چکیده

________________________________________________________________________________ Abstract Udder health considerably affects the economics of dairy farming. There are different reasons for poor udder health; one of them is the milking technique. In earlier studies it was shown that automatic milking systems (AMS) have advantages over conventional milking systems (CMS). Quarter individual milking and automation are therefore possibilities to improve the milking process. Single tube guiding allows controlling each quarter individually to measure cell count or end the process according to the cows needs. This study evaluates the effect of a single tube milking system used in a conventional milking parlour. Forces on the teats regarding different udder formations and vacuum behaviour were recorded. The investigated single tube milking system MultiLactor is produced by the company Siliconform GmbH, Türkheim, Germany. Balanced allocation of vertical force for all teats is important for proper and gentle milk withdrawal and to maintain udder health. Measurements of force distribution in AMS and MultiLactor systems proved their superiority to conventional milking clusters. Furthermore, all the other force directions were reduced to nearly zero in AMS and MultiLactor. Higher adaptability to irregular udder formations is also expected. In conclusion "wrong" positioning of the teat cups is expected to be solved by implementing clawless milking clusters. ________________________________________________________________________________

Quarter Individual Milking in Conventional Milking Parlours

In this study, a new quarter individual milking system called Multilactor® (MULTI) was compared with a conventional milking system (CON). The target of the developments in the field of milking technique is to obtain the whole milk from the teat of the animal in the shortest possible time without causing any detrimental effect on udder health. The most direct measure of the milking system effect...

Improvement of Electromagnetic Forces in a Single-Phase Induction Motor by Providing a New Winding Distribution

Single-phase induction motors have a wide range of domestic and industrial applications. These motors have a squirrel cage rotor and their stator usually has two windings: main and auxiliary. The use of auxiliary winding in the structure of single-phase induction motors creates two unbalance and asymmetric phases. This causes to increase the spatial harmonics of the field in the air gap, and al...

Pilot study on the influence of premilking iodine-based teat disinfection on milk iodine content

Premilking cleaning and disinfection of teats were shown to be effective to prevent environmental mastitis. However, premilking teat disinfection is not a commonly used practice in Germany because of the risk of disinfection product residues in the milk. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of five differently concentrated iodine-based, foaming, premilking teat disinfectants ...

Short Term Changes in Teats Following Machine Milking with Respect to Quarter Health Status in Cows

The procedures and practices associated with milking are critically important and people now-a-days are switching over to machine milking to save time and money. Milking equipments if properly maintained have a positive impact on both milk production and milk quality. However, if the equipments are not used as per the recommended standard values it may have some untoward effects on udder health...

Effect of three hygienic conditions (T1washing and disinfection of udder and teats, milker hands, and a sanitary rinse of milking pails using calcium hypochlorite solution with 200 ppm Cl; T2washing of udder and teats, milker hands and milking pails with normal water; and T3without any kind of preparation of udder and teats, milker hands and milking pails) before milking were studied. Fifteen “...
